The group forms a circle. They are asked to count clockwise around the circle starting with a group member chosen at random: 1,2,3,
1,2,3, 1,2,3…
After a couple of rounds, the facilitator calls a halt and asks them
to replace every ‘1’ with a clap.
Clap, 2, 3, Clap, 2, 3, Clap, 2, 3… After several circuits, ask the team to continue to replace every ‘1’ with a clap and also to replace every ‘2’ with a slap on the thighs.
Clap, Slap, 3, Clap, Slap, 3, Clap, Slap, 3… This can run for a while – things start to get pretty messy
and hilarious!
Finally, the facilitator asks them to additionally replace the remaining ‘3s’ with a stamp of the foot. Now things start to get seri-
ously chaotic.
This delightfully silly classic is a good icebreaker. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone cracks up laughing and the physical movement gets the group loosened up.
