We have looked at the importance of ‘telling the story’ in everything we do. Make sure that your narrative is clear – that it has a beginning, a middle and an end. Every aspect of our performance must reflect the shape and detail of our narrative: it must be obvious at every point exactly where we are in the narrative, that we understand what has gone before, and that we’re anticipating what may be coming next.
Be true to your story. If we are dancing a tango, we can’t do a few steps of foxtrot. If we are acting in a tragedy, we have to be very careful how we introduce moments of comedy, and vice versa. Hit the right notes. Be consistent.
